Opps!

So, I was confused and under the impression that we could react to anything; something we read, something we watched, something we heard, or something that happened. Turns out that all of the above are okay, minus my choice for my last blog, so here is my second reaction blog of the day.

I am reading a book, for the second time, called twenty-one. Twenty-one is about a guy named Bret that is part of the PAK fraternity. Bret is just turning twenty-one and to follow trandition in the frat, he must down twenty-one drinks in twenty-four hours.
I thought that underage and binge drinking would be a great topic of discussion, seeing as we live in a state that could out-drink pretty much any other. The college towns in Wisconsin such as Madison, La Crosse, and Menomonie have made drinking the most popular pastime in our area. Every college in the United States has students that drink, but many feel that the Midwest is taking things a bit too far. I personally agree with those that think that things are a bit too extreme around here. Sure, most students drank some while they were in highschool, and many will drink much more once they move out and on to college, but it is not necessary to get beligerantly drunk every night. The house parties that go on are bad enough, but things get even worse once students reach the legal age of twenty-one. Reaching this age has becomg a goal in a young adults life that has equal or more value than succeeding in life. Is it okay to have a few while you watch the game on sunday or for the occasionally celebration? Sure, but college students need to open their eyes and realize that there is more to life than drinking.

I agree with you very strongly. First off I am one of the few that didn't drink in high school and think you can have fun with out it or if you are going to just like one while your watching the game like you said. However when you are drunk every night whats the point to college your not going to learn anything if you have a hangover in class. With this style of drinking the age that people live is going to lower. Don't people see that people die from this kind of thing. I mean hello how many more college students have to die in La Crosse for people to understand. As you can see I feel very strongly about this.
